More About Richmond Hill - Connecting to the Community

The Project

Richmond Hill is a vibrant, growing city in the Greater Toronto Area. In 2021, Richmond Hill's population sat at more than 200,000, more than doubling since 1996. In the immediate aftermath of World War 2, the population of the then-village was only 3000 inhabitants. All of this considered, it's safe to say for many of us in the community, our roots here are not very deep. Thus, this website was put together to provide all local residents with a better understanding of the land which we now call Richmond Hill, and insight about where we are all located in this community's long history. Historical developments in the areas of education, administration, demographics, economy, and transportation will be shared in this space. These developments will be broken up among five distinct periods. The goal is that we all feel more connected to the land, the community, and each other.
